Hi Anya!!! I got your letter — your words made me really happy. A big fiery hello to Charles as always =). Ahaha, I had a good laugh about the Met Gala outfits =). I’m doing alright. Managed to score a small victory =). I’ll give you the short version: the judge gave 20 working days for reviewing the case materials — and how can anyone go through such a large volume in just 20 days? I went to court 20 times for the review. Then, in a pompous tone, the judge notified me that my review time was over. Well, OK.

Then I sat around for almost two months with no progress and kept filing complaints to higher courts. In April, they started taking me again for review. But no one can explain on what basis or under what procedural document they’re doing this =).

And just recently, I managed to get my hands on a document (hah, they took the bait =)), which states that «in order to implement my right to review,» I will be allowed to go through all case materials. Brilliant — now we have two mutually exclusive court decisions: one that blatantly violates my right to review by giving just 20 days, and another that, out of the blue, allows unlimited access to all the materials =). Ahaha, I’m preparing a complaint to the judicial qualification board in our region =). What’s even going on.

I managed to get some books by King here — been reading. Just recently read One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Solzhenitsyn — intense and brutal, made a big impression. The weather hasn’t been kind. Not long ago it was blazing — around +24 to +26°C. Now it’s chilly — around +12°C, with sharp temperature swings.

Hugs, Maksim May 12, 2025
