Hello 😊
Thank you for another selection of news.
My cellmates and I had blueberry cake around midnight on the 31st, listened to the radio (there’s no TV in the cell), and went to bed. When the clock struck midnight, the detainees congratulated each other «over the intercom», and the noise was quite something 😊 Initiative folks outside put on a beautiful fireworks display beyond the detention center’s fence. We each smoked a cherry-flavored cigarillo. So, it was almost like home 😊 Too bad we couldn’t go outside, but at least we were taken out for a walk in the evening on the 31st.
I’m doing more or less okay. After the holidays, I received another batch of letters and parcels—this time from Germany, the U.S., and Spain, and of course from Russia. This is the second parcel from Berlin, filled with printouts and tons of photos. I got a postcard from Düsseldorf and another one from Málaga, Spain. A group of people from Illinois also wrote to me.
Thank you all for your support and warmth, for keeping my spirits up and giving me hope!
Say hi to Charles from me—sending a paw shake 😊
My pre-trial detention is set until June 25th, and the court proceedings have begun. The trial is at the Gatchina City Court, with the second hearing scheduled for February 4th.
With respect and gratitude,
Dmitry Bogmut
